The overthrow of Saddam would make Mideast peace much EASIER, not harder.
Israel would be relieved at the removal of a grave threat, and there would be pressure on Arab dictators to reform internally, and to join the new Iraq in approaching Israel with a more serious attitude on peace negotiations, not cash rewards for suicide terrorists.
The Iraqis themselves universally despise Saddam Hussein, but in such a horrific police state all of them fear that any move against Saddam will be their last. I suspect that one motive behind the US government leaking the attack plans is to reassure Iraqi opponents of Saddam that we're serious this time, and willing to go all the way to liberate their country from such a monster.
