Just take his crazy comments about America's relations with Vietnam, for instance. Dispite the mistakes we admittedly made in fighting communist aggression in SE Asia, Americans visiting Vietnam today are welcomed with open arms by the Vietnamese people, facing the so-called 'hostility' only from representatives of the communist dictatorship still oppressing the Vietnamese people. The truth is that millions of Vietnamese have eagerly immigrated to the USA, or desired to do so, even in the face of grave dangers. The truth is that we have faced and admitted our failings, our My Lai type 'war crimes' if you wish, to a far greater extent than the communists have, which is to say not at all. This is all the more galling in light of the indisputable fact that communist atrocities in the Vietnam War were far greater, far more numerous, than those committed by the American soldiers. Anyone denying this fact shows either profound historical ignorance, or a blatant, blinding hatred of America that precludes all attempts at reasonable discussion on the topic.
