Re: Well

I can't speak for Gates, but here's a hypothetical.

Let’s pretend Bill Gates goes to Vegas. He wants to gamble. Does it full time.

He finds a card game where he can haul in $1 million a year.

The cards, dealer, casino, tips, security guards, etc., cost him $600,000 a year.

Gates nets $400,000.

Now, Joe Sixpack heads off to Vegas. He finds a blackjack table where he can make $20,000 a year.

The cards, dealer, casino, tips, security guard, etc., costs him $3,000 a year.

He nets $17,000.

Do you really think Gates is going to complain that the other guy is paying only $3,000, only 15% of his winnings?

Nope. GATES AIN'T DUMB. He would be grateful, not looking around thinking he's being cheated. He can see $400,000 net, for him. The other $600,000 is the cost of setting up the system which gets him his cut, the cost of doing business.

He’d be delighted to pay twice as much, if he could net 50% again as much. To be paying $900,000 if he could net $600,000. The cost of doing business is the cost of doing business. Because he’s smart.

Clearly I can’t speak for Bill Gates. But, that’s the deal I’d go for.
