Unlike some here who take the party line no matter what.
He was alternatively naive (like Somalia)
Dont forget it was Bush the Elder who dumped troops in Somalia while lame-ducking it in last days as Prez.
Course, Clinton and his COS did manage to screw it up too.....
abrupt (like the feeble cruise missle attacks allegedly against Al Qaida)
I can agree with you on that one.
or grandstanding (like he did so tragically with Israel and Palestine).
Name one prez other than Carter who tried harder and made more progress than Clinton in the Mid-East.
That it failed is more a testament to Israel and Arafat than Clinton. For the succeeding President to dismiss it as "photo-op" dilpomacy and then go hands-off while the situation degenerated was reprehensible.
Kosovo was an example of where he just went off and did something without consultation with congress.
Yet you fail to answer Buck's point, or admit that it worked.
You might have missed it but President Bush is not simply deciding to go an bomb Iraq. He has put both sides of the case into the public square and has allowed a vigorous debate.
A debate where if you dare to go against the Bush Doctrine, you are immediately assailed as treasonous, or working with Saddam. What kind of a debate is that?
Cheers,
Tony
