"Hard copy" is exactly what I had in mind - preferably clothbound, permeated with the wonderful scent of knowledge represented by black marks on (acid free) paper, which scent has been synergistically blended with that of thousands of its fellows, shelved in stack upon stack in a repository of higher learning.

After all, we're talking about History...
