I'm telling you the way it is: You have the field. Now make a mistake if you dare, for there's no one to take the fall for you.
I don't blame you for not liking the situation. Calling my remarks a strawman argument ignores the fact that I wasn't arguing. I was stating what my experience combined with my intuition tells me is the reality of the Republican situation. It was not argument but prophecy.
Btw, the real definition of "strawman" is here: The author attacks an argument which is different from, and usually weaker than, the opposition's best argument.
I'm telling you what people will expect. You're telling me that I have set up an impossible condition, something clearly beyond my power or intent. Who has the strawman here?
Go ahead and whistle in the dark. I know you don't want to hear it.
Regards--
Mary Anne
