Re: No problem.

A Republican administration will do just fine for the next two years, assuming they have the cojones to stick to their principles and the brains to deal with all the banana peels the Democrats will be tossing in front of them.

The economy will improve, and I have a lot of confidence in their ability to handle our foreign affairs.

The secret is picking the battles. If it were my call, I would tell them this:

Push accelerating the tax cuts, and moving other tax reductions through the system. Object of the game is to make it easier to make and keep money in America, for all income levels. Push the security and defense items, but don't go overboard. We're grownups out here, and we're not shaking in our boots. We don't need cameras on every corner. I would not push drilling in ANWR. Not for a while. I might twist Jeb's arm to get off his high horse on drilling in the Gulf, where drilling already takes place in many areas.

Stay clear of major conservative social issues, unless they're forced on you. Most of those issues belong on the state and local level, and it's about damn time SOME president pointed this out.

There's a lot of major reforms that could be done to make government smaller, and a purist might go for it, but you know, there are more important things on the front burner right now. Don't make the Clinton mistake--coming into office and trying to socialize medicine or some other major paradigm shift. If you can whittle away waste a bit at a time, go for it.

I could think of a few other things, too. But hey, no one actually asked me, did they?
