INTERPOL is a very small organization with very limited resources and a hole in the wall office.

The name has been made famous by movies of the seventies - but the reality is almost any US intelligence agency has budget and resources thousands of times larger than Interpol.

Interpol is making news for itself - because Interpol is almost obsolete and is tying its future to the Al Qaida threat. That threat is best served by the image of Bin Laden in hiding eluding the US.

Look how quickly people like you jump on the news - only because they are rooting for Al Qaida. There will always be those who profit from an alive Bin Laden - much as there will always be people who profit from an alive Elvis.

As for telling what we know... the US doesn't deal with, or share with Interpol except under very rare circumstances as it is very unreliable and insecure, information-wise.

Interpol is to intelligence as the UN is to governance.
