The blatant pure opinion of SDAI-Tech

<Here’s the part of the story you didn’t hear. The part you will not read about on CNN or even Fox or Newsmax.

That's because the only story in your post is the one in your head. This is your spin and your spin entirely.

You also assume that black Americans older than me (I was not around in 1948) were unaware of the speeches Mr. Thurmond was making in his campaign, or don't remember them today. They weren't and they do. They can get irate all by themselves, just like the grown-up citizens they are. Your presumption that black voters over the age of, say, 60 are too feebleminded to remember what they heard and how they lived in 1948 without prompting from Evil Leftists is just bizarre.

Trent Lott put his foot in his mouth. Some Democrats were kind enough to point it out. The opposition party -- imagine that!

Even What's-his-name, Mr. No Spin Zone, was very careful to distance himself from Mr. Lott's remarks in an interview segment on his Fox show tonight. And here's a quote from a well-known left-wing racist in the Washington Post:

William Kristol, editor of the conservative Weekly Standard, said "Oh, God," when he learned of Lott's comments. "It's ludicrous. He should remember it's the party of Lincoln," referring to Lott's role as Republican leader of the Senate, which the GOP will control when the new Congress convenes next month.

The 1948 Dixiecrat campaign was about segregation. Truman was against it. Thurmond's party had support of segregation explicitly mentioned as part of its platform.

Who is paying you to write this stuff? The spin you're trying to put on this is that Democrats knew what Trent Lott was going to say (telepathy? fortune telling?) and decided to use this knowledge to get black voter support of the Democrats by pointing out that Thurmond was a Democrat in 1948, when segregation was the flashpoint issue among Southern Democrats. Hmmm...

There are enough people alive and enough documents out there that this particular piece of history can't be rewritten to make it harmless. You're blowing smoke to cover up the obvious:

Lott would have been fine if he'd just known when to shut up. An election in 1948 would have been irrelevant at a 100th birthday party, but nooooooo...
