From what I understand of Middle East politics, you may very well have a point. We smack Israel lightly on the hands when the poop hits the fan, but continue to pour wheelbarrows full of money into their economy and military. We pitch fistfuls of cash and aid at many of the Arab nations as well.

Maybe we need to step back a bit. We could play less of a role in the region and still be the 900 lb gorilla, couldn't we?
