When was the last time the US put out a hit on someone?
Mary Anne — (archived)

And why?

If we're talking about government hit squads, that's quite a different thing. There are even, um, rumors that the US may have had something to do with elimination of heads of state in other nations.

Would a Muslim government target a little gallery in Seattle? Why not target the artist? He, after all, produced the work.

Why would a government waste its capital on such a little thing? A lone lunatic, on the other hand...

Salman Rushie has a unique place in this drama: he is not only a target singled out by Ayatolla Khomeini (who happened to be head of state in Iran at the time), but he's also a Muslim. This singles him out for special treatment.

Why not just say what's on your mind? Muslims are sneaky murderous scum that can't be trusted. They will sneak in and slit our throats in our sleep. Are we going to start the bombing now, or will we wait for the full moon after the State of the Union Address?
