I see H cars as a subtle Machivelian plot by Bush. His enemies always underestimate him. Here's my scenario:
Govt develops H cars.
Liberals and radical enviros rush out and are the 1st to buy them.
BOOM!
A carefully coordinated series of mini-Challenger events occur as the technology "fails".
Liberal opposition is decimated.
Literally.
