Cheap shot
On the one hand, it was a cheap shot.
On the other, I had seen no mention of RAWA here, pre 9/11. Only after someone posted a link here and films were played on CNN (not cause and effect I assume...) was there outrage at their treatment of women, and thus further fuel to the fire that we should bomb the bejeesus out of Afghanistan.
Now 'we' are all outraged at Sadaam's treatment of his own people - despite the fact that 'we' weren't at all angry in the eighties, and 'we' were outraged but decided to do nothing after Gulf War 1 (Bush + Clinton combined) - so now he has to go.
'We' are hypocrites.
