Hi Tom,
being a book fiend...I know of many journals and publications outside my own primary field of interests.
The magazine Architectural Record is a fine publication (the journal of the American Institute of Architects) and presents updates on the works of architects, nationally and globally.
Sometimes you see inspired designs - more often you see "difference" paraded glamorously - like someone wearing pants on their head and expecting people to kowtow in reverance to such ingenuity. Sometimes you see godawful nightmares given prose that only finds comparison in modern art circles. "It's such a vivid use of abstract space."
LOL
I suggest anyone who wants to be simultaneously inspired and horribly dismayed - peruse a copy at the local library if they have it. If not, request they get it. It's worth a look and has a high entertainment quotient (that is completely unintended by the publishers, which makes it all the more satisfying).
;-)
