Re: I don't mind it at all

Most of the folks posting below wouldn't have cared what the original WTC looked like. The WTC was just another Skyscraper when it was built. It did have the distinction of being the tallest building in the world as well as there being 2 of them, but beyond that it didn't have a whole lot of specialness to it. This is different. The terrorist attack which destroyed the WTC is forever etched in our minds. To have such a disgrace to the architecture profession be a memorial to those who died and a nation that hurt with the survivors is pitiful. A memorial is meant to speak to future generations of what has happened and help heal the current generation from the attack. What does this piece of crap have to do with any of that. To harrow up images of crumbled buildings? I thought we wanted to heal not relive the nightmare.

If this is what passes for architecture, then I am ashamed of my profession.

If this is what passes for a monument to the dead, then I am ashamed for the dead.
