It's vaguely related to Fox's cycle bit

Some generations really are more talented and inspired than others. If one looks at the classic designs from the thirties and the artists who penned them - one sees a magnitude of effort about 100 times higher than what most architects put out today.

Partly the society is to blame or more properly environment. How many architects pen ideas while listening to Sonatas from the masters? How many have a deep rooted understanding of mathematics and its role in aesthetic design? The golden ratio has been applied either consciously or unconsciously by architects for generations - yet for this design it is notoriously absent.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but when the beholder has never educated themselves to have discriminating taste - they settle for what the educated palette realizes is garbage.

Even advertising is in a slump. There were, generally, more memorable and creative ads just twenty-five years ago.

The past decade's cars? I just want to know who let the guy with the ugly stick into the designer's studios?

And when did the Susan Dey Partidge Family hair come back into fashion for girls and women? Did all blow dryers simultaneously get dropped into the toilet and short circuit across America? Are civil war-era women's beauty regimens back in vogue?

And what about piercings? Do men really need to have more earrings than barbary pirates?

So many questions!
