My little snappy one-liner for the week.
Go read the damn UN CHARTER
They are acting within bounds of their founding principles, which I take to be just as much a moral authority as our usupported (even on the BBS) and unsupportable war effort.
Just because we disagree with them/the UN does not mean they are immoral, Amoral, or unprincipled. It is the refuge of fools, ingnorants and complete cowards to attack the mouth that speaks the words instead of the words.
That we disagree, It simply means we disagree! The RIGHT, MORAL and PRINCIPLED thing to do in this case is to reasonably discuss the matter, which our government HAS NOT DONE. Instead we have called nations names and directly threatened alliances that have stood half a century and withstood the terrible global pressure of the Cold War. We have bribed and we have played fast and loose with the truth.
Our thin (anorexic) justifications for our behaviour have not washed. They do not wash even here.
