I read it to imply that the UN was formed to resolve east-west tensions, when it was in fact designed to deal with post WWII issues and to build a framework for conflict resolution.
But no where is any nation expected, as is being demanded of the US now, to give up its sovereignty in favor of UN positions.
And I think that the 'equality' of nations cncept should be revisited.
