There was a time when the pro US countries didn't recognize the pro-USSR countries and vice-versa. Then , one day, all the countries recognized each other, bringing the number of members to almost the entire number of countries on Earth.
It's purpose is to deal with conflicts between coutries, not to judge about the morality of this or that country.
If you'd rather only deal with friendly countries, with the same values as yours, there's a large fraction of the world that you won't be able to talk to.
