That money has to get into the system somehow.
Unless your gambling today's economy on the prosperity of tomorrow to pay back the debt, that money has to be made up somewhere.
When I was in college I did a lot of deficit spending. I was gambling that eventually my income would make up the difference and I could simply pay off all those credit cards. Now I am making a lot more than I was then, yet still have the weight of those cards. it is much harder to pay those off now, then it would have been to live within my means back then.
