OK, so Larry himself didn't call it the phony war

but by bringing it up, he implied that nothing much happened in Europe in the time period I gave, June 1940 to December 1941. Obviously that was not the case, no matter who said what.

My original point was that the US didn't join in the war for a long time, and during that time a lot of bad things happened.
