I would've loved to meet him
I've heard that we're losing thousands of WWII vets each week here in the US. I can only hope that some of them took the time to record their stories in an oral or video history. I spend a year helping a retired pilot write his autobiography and it was a wonderful experience.
A few years ago, I happened to meet a man at my airport who was wearing a 101st Airborne Division emblem on his hat. It turns out that he made every combat jump the 101st did during WWII and was at Bastonge. He was selling his plane due to poor health. I wish I could've spent more time with him.
