Re: Celebrities

"The actors were not necessarily born that way. They came from elsewhere, took a chance, and eventually got a role and eventually became celebrities.
They come from different places, with often different viewpoints of the world."
I would say most good actors "came from elsewhere"; if they weren't talented and hard working they won't make it.
There is an "inbreeding selection bias", which selects against "different viewpoints of the world"- though there is interest in things which are new, (a significant monetary interest).

"Becoming celebrities, they travel, travel all over the world and get in touch with citizens from all over the world."

They could choose to touch citizens from over the world- assuming they take proper security precautions. Having a celebrity at your party is generally considered a plus; celebrities have ample opportunity to talk to people all over the world- if they have time and desire.

"They also play characters they learn themselves from. Characters that are controversial, too, characters from all over the world.
I'm convinced they are more openminded than the average US citizen."

I'm confident that if they wanted to convince you that they were "openminded" they would be able to do this quite successfully.
The first they would need to do is find out what you thought openminded meant.
I would define "openminded" as the willingness to listen to other people.
It seems to me that the celebrities in question are not listening very well.
