Dr. Laura does give advice to people who seek it, and she has a right to an opinion and a moral viewpoint like anyone else. She doesn't point guns at anyone.
IMO sites like "Go Ask Alice," while they may be a useful resource for older teens and others, do present a lot of information that would not be appropriate for younger children. Your second link discusses this problem and the possible approaches to it very reasonably.
Filtering software on library computers is an issue that ought to be handled locally, on a community basis, and is not part of the proper function of the Federal government. In this, I disagree with some conservatives, and probably with Dr. Laura (not sure of her exact position.)
She has also pointed out other computer issues that are of concern to parents that have nothing to do with the ALA.
It is worth pointing out that as far as I know the ALA has not supported any boycotts on this issue. The boycotts were apparently in response to some remark that gay organizations took exception to.
