So *that's* what happened - or didn't

Ok, so I've got the Settings button now, and I comprehend all the mis-comprehension in earlier bug reports... like the Earlier button, for instance.

Since so many of you are using IE6, this is like a second unveiling of the new design. I breathlessly await your feedback, the good, the bad, the ugly.

Good (potentially): It'll be stable now (?) Also, nice choice of graphic for this page!)

Bad: even with a fully maximized window and the "compact" layout selected, the bottom edge of the page disappears out of the Windows frame. That is, the bottom end of the scroll bar and its down arrow button are nowhere.* Yeah, I know - I'm stuck with 800x600 in a 1024x768 world; the chipset driver for the video card supports rez's higher than I've ever seen before, but the monitor chokes bigtime on the refresh rate ** - but how come every other site I go to can produce full scrollbars in both directions as needed to suit whatever size my browser window is, but not this one, huh?

Ugly: the dark tweed TOC background. Uuuuuhhhgly! And, the powder blue letters superimposed on it are now hard to read at either "standard" or "smaller" setting. That font color was fine for an eggshell-white background (or whatever color that was) - not now.

--------------------------------------------
*Oh, btw - going back to the TOC while still composing this window, now I have the whole scrollbar (a vast improvement) - now I'm just missing the top half of the page header.
