What impresses me about DiGregorio's book and Levin's papers is that Levin DOES present the other side, and analyzes it logically and shows why it still does not rule out life on Mars.
Anyway the question is still not settled. If Levin turns out to be right, then there's no question Barry's book will be regarded as forsightful and a fundamentally important work in the advancement of science.
