Robert you are wrong! Most scientists I've talk to on this subject believe as Mark has expressed it. The better explanation for the Levin experiments results are chemical not biological. The jury is still out and maybe Beagle II will answer the question was it life or chemical process that are at play.
But, I'm betting it won't. Not because there is some massive conspiracy going on. Just sometimes science is like a guy in a dark room trying to guess where the light switch is. Niether Beagle II will fail at landing or some part of the results will leave us with a question mark.
I've not read Barry's book. Had a chance to get it at a yard sale awhile back for 50 cents didn't... It was in with the SF and fantasy books not the math and science books the student also was selling... I didn't feel like a SF or fantasy book right then...
