re: No Way Jose Again

"Your sources of reading are limited if you consider it a two sided discussion. BD himself admitted it was not using the justification that Levin's side was undertold. Presenting only the counter arguments you can dismiss is not a two sided debate. Barry presented Levin's counters to arguments against his interpretation not the actual arguments of his critics or a direct rebuttal to Levin."

Levin could present counter-arguments to ALL the opposing arguments to his work because ALL the opposing arguments are flawed. I have read the opposing arguments independently of Levin's papers and Barry's book and they ARE flawed.
This is not to say that Levin's theory is proven. Only that the non-life arguments are not sufficient to conclude no life on Mars.
It is easy to focus on a single passage in a book you don't agree with to therefore conclude the entire book is wrong. Most of the debate I've seen on this board doesn't even address the science. It focuses on this rather trivial passage in the book.
Isaac Newton is remembered and revered for his science not for his alchemy.
Johannes Kepler is remembered and revered for his science not for his astrology.
