"It's not actual WMD, but it's rather compelling documentation of Saddam's secret efforts to rebuild and conceal banned chemical and biological weapons"
Its compelling documentation of some odds-and-ends buried behind some guys house over a decade ago. I'm not sure it travels as far as you want to take it. Its not, for example, the functioning centrifuge reported originally. THAT would have gone nearly as far as you want to go.
Recall, the basis of this conflict was not that Iraq was deceptive and uncooperative- as it had been for 12 years and three administrations. It was on the clear and present danger of WMD and terrorist ties.
"Thank God Bush and Blair weren't fooled by this beast, and had the courage to take tough measures to get rid of him."
I don't think anyone was 'fooled' by Saddam the insane. In fact, the man could not outsmart a cheese pizza.
Everyone knew who and what he was. Thats not at issue.
As for courage. Well... Rushing to war over less-than-true issues is not held as the better part of valor.
