That's Wishful Thinking Don

You mentioned military equipment was buried, but then refuse to connect the dots. Where is your evidence Irag ever made those balloons you mention. There is plenty of evidence they had a biological weapons program based on testimony from defectors. I don't remember if any physical or documentation evidence was ever found until these labs. Numerous people have posted links contradicting the convenient theory you've latched on to and as far as I can tell from limited visits lately you have ignored those as you previosly ignored the burial issue.

The amount of chemical weapons in Iraq was probably estimated before the war by the good old chemical engineering standard of mass balance. Iraq imported X pounds of precursors they couldn't and wouldn't account for and assuming they converted them to chemical weapons ANY chemist or chemical engineer could have calculated the pounds they were likely to have given the reaction formulas. Any prudent government opposed to Iraq would have made such an assumption based on Iraq's past history of CW use and its lack of cooperation with inspectors. If that assumption is wrong, it is Saddam's fault for acting like he was hiding weapons rather than the Bush administration's failure to make reasonable interpretations. Even Blix admitted the huge lack of accountability on Iraq's part.

Most Americans have no difficulty with being able to comprehend this relatively simple logic and that is why the lack of WMD continues to be a nonissue despite the voiciferous attempts by some Democrats to change that. They understand that past decisions were made on past evidence not evidence obtained after the fact. Some Democrats seem to think cause can happen after effect.

Mark
