I clearly stated what you find out after making a decision is irrelevant to whether you made the most reasonable decision prior to the event. You did not address this and it is most inconsistent with the poo-pooing claims of revisionism by you and Davin. I also went over in detail why I think the decision was justified based on 10 years of data not Bush's claims a few months ago.
You wish to ignore
1) Saddams record of CW use (that was all in the past we should assume despie any contrary evidence that he reformed?).
2) Saddam's record of noncomplience with weapons inspections (It was just a matter of national sovereignity, we should of course trust Saddam's word?)
3) Saddams brutal record of tyranny documented both before and adter the war (he's obviously not a power hungry brutal dictator. He obviouisly shows restraint in his methods of with dealing with opponants)
4) Missing chemical precursors. (They were obviously put to good use because we can't find them right? no chance they were just recently destroyed what with all that unvconcing human intelligence indicating he had them)
5) Saddam record of alliences of convenience (just becaus ehe sought help from Old enemy Iran during GW1 doesn't mean he's consider an allience of convenience with Al-queda)
6) Human intelligence gathered prior to Bush's administration on CW, BW, and NW.
7) You appear to ignore the value of technological know how and believe if it's not there now it can't be readily made.
The American public is aware of this even if you and Davin choose to ignore it. All the slams on what they are confused about does not balance out what you choose to ignore. Perhaps the belief in an Al-queda connection is not based on a belief that there is any hard evidence, but rather a pattern of behavior on the part of boith using whatever means available. Did your polls even bother to test that?
You and Davin continue to scortch your credibility on this issue buy insisiting WMD were the only pre-war justification for the war. Everyone on the opposite side knows this is false. So does the American public no mattter how the media tries to spin this lack of WMD evidence. If you and other Bush bashers want to attack Bush's credibility you need to show some yourself to make any headway in general opinion here or elsewhere.
If it is all a matter of bad book keeping Don and simple stubborness creating a false impression, that is Saddam's fault not ours Don. We are not the ones with a recent history of using chemical weapons, brutalizing our own people, and invading a neighbor.
Get back with me when you are willing to face past history and stop expecting cause to happen before effect or Bush to see future evidence.
Regards,
Mark
PS Hope you and Davin have fun burying all those things you do just for the hell of it this weekend. Sorry I forgot people are like dogs and just bury low value items for no apparent reason.
