"One doesn't predicate the success of a program on its most optimistic possible outcome, but on its most pessimistic"
By this standard the Iraqi situation is and has been a blazing success. As Robert points out in his post below, the Bush administration had justified the invasion of Iraq based on a worst case senario of a Nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons armed Sadam launching future attacks on the American homeland--With the potential to kill millions of innocent Americans.
Now that Sadam is gone for good, with absolutly ZERO chance of ever returning to Evil-Doer/Evil-Ruler days, we have successfully, and forever, raised the worst case senario bar to something that is much better for American and regional security.
