Cost effectiveness
No disputing that we'll eventually achieve at least a slight improvement in our own security by improving conditions in Iraq. But if it was done to enhance national security, was it cost-effective? Would the same resources in money and blood have achieved more going directly after the Al Qaeda and Taliban operating around Afghanistan and northwest Pakistan?
