This guy just makes this stuff up and the "Times" prints it. This isn't news. Its idle speculation.
Like I said, it's just one source, and it's a plausible scenario.
What's funny is that if this same guy had written that he had personal knowledge that Saddam had destroyed all his weapons in 1999, you would have latched onto it as gospel, same as with all those other "unnamed sources," Iraqi defectors, and others that are liars if they don't fit your agenda, and speakers of gospel if they do.
