I do think Afghanistan was a reasonable action after 9/11--after all, that's where we knew we could find Al Qaeda and their Taliban hosts.
Invading Iraq reminds me of that staple of slapstick comedy, in which a person takes a swing at somebody and hits somebody else entirely. Punching out Iraq didn't harm Al Qaeda one little bit. Seems to me that if you're gonna throw a punch, you'd do well to hit the target you need to hit, otherwise the bad guy's gonna get a free shot at you while you're recovering from the swing.
