Iraq is the linchpin of the Middle East.
Iran and Syria are the sugar daddies of terrorism. Without their support, organized terror organizations can not survive. By taking out Saddam and creating a pro Western society in Iraq, we can bring a tremendous amount of pressure on these two countries. I believe that the pro democracy demonstrations in Iran a few weeks ago happened in no small part because of our invasion of Iraq. If we can help to bring down the clerics in Iran and either isolate or take out the Syrian government, we can have peace in our time....at least for a few years.
