The daughter and HS physics class

When my daughter was in HS the only time I gave active input on her course selection was to lobby for her to elect to take physics in case she later decided to take a technical career in college. She was a good math student and took the course. It was tough at first, so the Dad feeling some guilt decided to help out some with the homework problems the 1st couple weeks. I had to read the chapters to refresh my tools to solve the problems. I thought it worked out OK despite her AAA personality. After 3 weeks or so she said in frustration, "Dad!! I can get it done quicker by myself". Thus ended the only time I ever tried the activist approach.

She went on to a liberal arts college and today is Director of Marketing at Lucent Technologies.
