The "ebnelsonization" of the HabitableZone
I believe that at some point the campaign of the Democratic Party and the leftist media to wreck the Iraqi effort and make it into Bush's Vietnam will start to become painfully obvious.
Those of us who've looked at the facts and come to conclusions that make you partisans uncomfortable aren't members of some leftist conspiracy to "get" Bush. The implication that criticizing Bush is a conscious attempt to maneuver the US into a disaster is insulting and completely uncalled-for. It's an ad homineum attack of the nastiest sort.
I'm motivated by a kind of patriotism that you seem to have forgotten in your partisan fever: A sense of personal responsibility for my country's fate and a duty to speak out if I see it headed for disaster. Warning of disaster to try and prevent it is a far cry from trying to create disaster. "My President right or wrong" is most definitely not true patriotism.
The discussion here is fast approaching rock bottom. I have seen nothing substantive from the Right in quite a while, just frantic attempts to dismiss unwelcome news and views with adolescent humor, derision, and insults. I call it the ebnelsonization of the HabitableZone. What happened to our core value of strong debate based on fact and reason?
