Not in the speech I heard. I went back over the transcript and found only this mealy-mouthed stuff that might be considered a call for UN action:
"First, we must stand with the people of Afghanistan and Iraq as they build free and stable countries."
"And the United Nations can contribute greatly to the cause of Iraq self-government."
"Now the nation of Iraq needs and deserves our aid, and all nations of goodwill should step forward and provide that support."
This sounds like the Iraq reconstruction plan we had when we invaded.
The rest of the text had some of the same old stuff: your are with us or with the terrorists, Saddam was a very bad guy, we love the UN so much that we invaded Iraq to preserve your credibility, etc.
Had a new twist that seemed to be an attempt to make people think that they should support US in Iraq or be in favor of sex slavery and AIDS. I can hardly wait till [after this drum has been banged for a few months] the polls show people believe this, and you say you have no idea how people get such funny ideas. Probably a result of not having federal school vouchers.
