Perhaps you are asking the wrong question

Would somebody finally PLEASE answer this question? Had we gone into Iraq and ousted Saddam under the glorious blue flag of the U.N. and with the blessings of mighty France and Germany, what exactly would be different or better now?

Perhaps we didn't need to go storming into Iraq at all. Diplomacy works differently than does an exploding bomb...more slowly, to be sure, but often with less bloodshed. It certainly looks like Saddam was a paper tiger, something which our government should have known.

Show me one clear indication that Iraq under Saddam was a clear and present danger to the United States. Show me one clear reason why hundreds of Americans and thousands of Iraqis had to die.

I can hear the lament now: but Saddam wasn't a paper tiger to the Iraqis he tortured, terrorized and killed...

Uh huh...and we went in with the express purpose of freeing the Iraqi people. Right. Aren't we just the cat's meow.

We were told that Iraq had massive quantities of Weapons of Mass Destruction. That was the only way the admin could sell the war, so that's the way they took it to market. There wouldn't have been a war if the only reason for fighting was to liberate an oppressed people. America wouldn't have given a rat's behind.
