BD asks: To answer a qeustion with another question: Why do you blast ICAMSR supporters for wanting a better planetary protection policy?

So you are saying all lthe scientists involved in the MECA instrument package are Mars Society members? Which ones? Also notice in the MECA website it says one of the goals is to look for pathogens. What do you suppose that might be?

Chris writes: My name is Chris Vancil you must be confusing me with someone else. I've never blasted anyone for wanting a better planetary protection program. I support the current plan as it is the best design with the best possiblity of protection and returns.

And no. I'm not saying everyone who worked on MECA are members of TMS. Try looking at the names on this page from this site here: http://phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/ . And scientists often look for what they doesn't expect to find in a place and yes some other people are just as confused about it as you are.
