re: Mars Society Steering Committee

Barry wrote: I wonder how all those people really feel about the canvas and duct tape space suit simulations in the very cozy environment of Utah? Do they also, like you, feel this is crucial Mars Research? I doubt it highly. They support the Mars Society because they support a human mission to Mars. However, until the issue of life on Mars is settled, it will never happen. I'm sure those scientists on the Steering committe realize this.

Chris writes: You don't have any insight into their minds is all I can say. Tony Muscatello was in charge of the last Steering Committee meeting please look up what he does as concerns MDRS and FMARS... Much of the time during one of those meetings is spent talking about the science at either MDRS or FMARS or the cost of things related to them.

Barry wrote: for the sake of conversation and to show how little you read before you criticize, Chris inferred that most everyone on MECA was a Mars Soceity member. Not true. I was member for a while too, but witnessed they way people who oppose your views of non-planetary protection are treated. I did receive a Certificate of Entitlement from Zubrin saying I was granted 2 acres of land on Mars. Funny thing though, the certificate never said where on Mars my "land" was.

Chris writes: No where do I infer most of the members of the team that made MECA where or are members of TMS. That is a lie, Barry! Smith worked on both MECA and is the PI of the Lander itself and is on the TMSSC. But there are others...who worked on MECA. Face it you thought I was lying and thought you had me caught. On the "deed" I have a copy and have read the paper it is a thank you note having no legal merit. That you want to hold it up as a lie tells volumes about you not the Mars Society or Zubrin.
