Human Spaceflight - a future without NASA?
One can only hope so.
Spent half a trillion dollars SINCE Apollo and can't get out of LEO. Hell, with the latest shuttle debacle NASA can't even get TO LEO.
How many more decades of non-progress and tens of billions wasted on congressional pork is it going to take before space advocates wake up from their fantasy dreams and realize it is not happening? Look at the evidence of history over the last 30 years.
An effective space program would be one of incentives for private industry. Better yet, prizes for meaningful accomplishments.
Anything but more pork for an institution that grows more inefficient every year.
