I am not suggesting that Mr. Hussein's behavior makes sense or is in any way excusable. All I'm stating is that that Guardian story is not particularly believable. There are more prosaic reasons why Mr. Hussein appeared to be uncooperative with U.N. inspectors - one, he didn't have anything to inspect; two, he had other secrets he wanted to protect; and three, he was a megalomaniac.
