Personally, I say that's a load of horse exhaust. Nothing personal. It's amazing how far the human mind will reach to avoid looking into the face of Chaos, like the idea that somebody can just pick a completely innocent person off a street and haul her off to her death, or kill children simply because of their religion. The idea that life is metaphysically "fair," is an illusion that is hard to dispel, and rationalizations galore have been invented to keep the illusion going.

The universe has no "justice" as such. The best we can do in dealing with other human beings is to use our own actions--which are under our control--in the service of justice.

We can't repair or explain away the injustice done to that little girl. We can dispense justice to her killer.
