False, False, Baseless, Misleading, Works Both Ways, and Obviously Biased

1) False the majority of Iraqis are Shiites who want him executed.

2) The Kurds suffered heavily under Saddam, fought him several times, and suffered heavy losses in defeat. It is ludicrous to claim they would not want to claim credit for turning the tables.

3) Claim three simply did not have enough evidence even to meet the low standards of the American press. Since you base the believability of this on the false claims one and two there is no reason to believe this absent some strong evidence. Bucks comments were far more accurate.

4) Carefully staged rescue is a misleading label IMO. The rescue may have been over kill and not as dangerous as first impressions indicated, but you're a nut if you think a raid into hostile territory shouldn't have taken the level of precautions they did. Failure could have meant her life. You've got to remember it was in the interest of the hospital staff to portray themselves as good caregivers.

5) It appears to fit the Democrats agenda to grab a hold of any negative report no matter how flimsily based in fact or how much misguided conjecture needs to be added to support it. It was not in the Kurds interest to hide Saddam. Any Kurdish leader responsible for Saddam's capture would have been a huge hero to his people and assured of much future political power.

6) Your last comment indicates an extreme bias which explains why you overlook the obvious in evaluating the credibility of this story.

This election isn't good versus evil. It's about two parties catering to different special interests who both seem to have problems focusing on what's good for America as a whole. If anything it's bad versus bad since neither seem to place a high value on truth or accuracy. Democrat's can't win the honesty issue against Bush peddling baseless crap like this. After the national guard issue and the distortions on Iraq from the Democrats I consider the Republicans to be misguided, but more truthfull than the Democrats. Much more stuff like this and I won't even bother to watch the debates and give Kerry a chance to win my vote.

Mark
