Unreliable Sources

Have you ever read Unreliable Sources: A Guide to Detecting Bias in News Media by Lee and Solomon?

I have, and I keep my copy close at hand, right on top of the dictionary.

A reliable source is one that prints the truth, and that means the whole truth. For that reason, as Lee and Solomon make clear, our mainstream media cannot be considered reliable sources. The fact that a story does not appear in the mainstream media is no measure of its veracity. Ignoring, burying, trivializing, and/or deleting critical passages of an unpleasant story are some of the common tactics employed by our mainstream media to conceal, pervert or distort the truth.

Have you forgotten already how well our media served the Bush administration's deceit of the public?

I haven't.

"You gotta love these guys. Not only have Lee and Solomon written a timely consumer primer on conservative bias in reporting, they've done it with humor."
