What you know

Again Mark, Pres. Bush's own experts issued strongly worded dissenting opinions negating the yellowcake, the aluminum tubes, the model plane drones stories. If you ignore what your own experts are telling you - as well as key defectors such as Gen. Kamel, who was, after all, head of the Iraqi WMD program - and the mainstream media bury these same stories, it would follow - in the minds of the rational - that a campaign of deceit was being waged by the Bush administration and the mainstream media in this country to bamboozle the American public into support for the war.

You say the decision was right. I disagree. Hans Blix now says the invasion was illegal. The United States of America cannot just go around bumping off regimes it doesn't like based on false pretexts. Such actions are a violation of international law and the UN charter.

As for Saddam's capture, recall my post above, which points out that Congressman Ray LaHood was hinting at Saddam's imminent capture a full two weeks before it came down. Taken in concert with the Kurd capture stories, the congressman's indiscretion might well lead a reasonable person to deduce that there was more to the capture than the mainstream media reported.
