Kerry's winning margin was large in every state but Georgia, where Edwards ran strong. Kerry's lone loss was in Vermont, where former Gov. Howard Dean -- who dropped out of the race two weeks ago -- won his home state.

WASHINGTON -- CNN
With the Democratic presidential nomination all but in his pocket, Sen. John Kerry stands poised to focus his campaign exclusively on battling Republicans and defeating President Bush in November.
"Before us lie long months of effort and of challenge, and we understand that," a triumphant Kerry declared to supporters in Washington Tuesday night as he picked up victory after victory in the critical Super Tuesday contests.
"We have no illusions about the Republican attack machine and what our opponents have done in the past and what they may try to do in the future. But I know that together we are equal to this task. I am a fighter." (Transcript of comments, key points of speech)
Kerry, a four-term U.S. senator from Massachusetts and decorated Vietnam veteran, triumphed in this latest round of Democratic contests, with projected wins in nine of the 10 states. (Super Tuesday results)
