If he "refuses to acknowlege" he was sexually abused, how did you find out he was? Maybe he was sexually abused but didn't perceive it as abuse at the time because he was too young to realize he was being taken advantage of. By the time he realized it, it was not remembered as an abuse, but as just an event. Those things happen.
I know people who were abused as children, but the abuse did not involve violence or pain, and the child simply didn't perceive it as abuse while it was happening. The child knows better now, because he has since learned the action he suffered was a criminal act.
As for him becoming gay, that really means nothing, people have not been abused and become gay, and vice versa.
